Lescault and Walderman, an end-to-end outsourced accounting firm and a member of the TydeCo™ group, has been named as the winner of the Financial Services category in the 2024 Moxie Award. The Moxie Award recognizes organizations that help make the DC-metro area an incredible place to do business, live, thrive and play.

Lescault and Walderman was one of the 17 category winners honored among 147 finalists for making a difference in the marketplace with their bold initiatives, strategic market moves, and moxie. The Moxie Award program was established in 2017 with the primary purpose of recognizing organizations based in the DC-metro area for their Boldness in Business.

From its beginnings as a local accounting firm, Lescault and Walderman has grown into one of the largest system integrators in the US for Sage Intacct implementations. The company established a global footprint two years ago by acquiring AWCape and its sister company, Applico—both Sage premier partners based in Cape Town, South Africa.

Together, the three companies now form a global team called TydeCo™ that delivers end-to-end finance, human resources and payroll solutions for businesses worldwide. Despite achieving significant scale as one of Sage’s largest global business partners, Lescault and Walderman retains the personalized touch of an owner-driven business.

Lescault and Walderman and the TydeCo™ group simplify complex financial systems for SMBs and automate workflows to help clients to grow with confidence. The goal is to bridge the gap between people and technology, creating smarter, faster ways to transform and scale businesses held back by inefficient financial systems.

“Over the last eight years since the Moxie Award began, we have had more than 1,300 award entries and discovered so many of the DC area’s most impressive companies. 2024 has been a continuation of meeting even more companies that lead their industries in this area, with this year’s winners showing remarkable moxie,” said Moxie Chair Katie Jordan.

Lescault and Walderman President & CEO Matthew Lescault said: “Since we started our business in 2006, we have grown into a sizeable global organization that helps SMBs drive business transformation and overcome inefficiencies. Throughout this journey, we’ve maintained a constant focus on client-centricity and making our business a great place for exceptional finance talent to work.

“I thank our clients for their support in building our business into a worthy Moxie winner and congratulate our innovative, hardworking team for making it happen. But our journey is just starting, with ambitious plans to grow in South Africa and the US as well as expand into new territories. We’re looking forward to many more years of partnership with our clients and people.”
