New Features in Quickbooks 2016Accounting Concepts

For some, it is an early Christmas. For others, it is more features that need to be learned. Either way, QB 2016 is here and has some handy new features that are now available.

Bill Tracker

This new feature provides information to allow the user to manage bills in just one screen. The categories included are purchase orders, unbilled, unpaid, and paid transactions. The default view shows information for the last 30 days pertaining to all unbilled purchase orders, unpaid bills, unreceived item receipts, and bill payments. As in past editions of QB, there are several useful filters. Filters included are vendor, type (transaction), status, date, group by, batch actions, and manage transactions.

Microsoft Office 2013

Although QB is upgrading to the 2016 version, Microsoft Office 2013 will still be compatible with QB Statement Writer. QB 2016 will patch your computer, still allowing users to deploy Statement Writer.

Batch Delete Transactions

Ever want a simple way to delete or void different transactions all at the same time? If so, batch delete was developed with you in mind. The three transactions that this will allow users to edit are invoices, checks, and bills. An important note: single transactions can be selected for this action, but a range of transactions cannot be unless filters are being used. Along with the other options within batch delete, there is a “back up & delete” option. We highly recommend using batch deletion in this way, as it cannot be reversed, in case the back up is needed at a later date.

Bulk Clear Send Forms

To make our lives easier, QB 2016 has introduced this feature in order to clear the email later flag from multiple transactions instead of just a single one like in past editions.

Verify/Rebuild Quickbooks Company File

When using this feature, QB shoots out a report and shows what has been changed, and what cannot be fixed within the program.

Upgrading Made Simpler

The old editions of QB used to make the user answer many questions before being able to upgrade an already existing system. Now, things have changed. Now there is just one question and a couple of progression screens.
